According to a media outlet, the investment distributor NEW has decided to release Call and Night in Paradise through Netflix, not theaters. The company is continuing detailed discussions with Netflix. Call is a thriller film about two women living in different times getting connected through a phone call. Park Shin Hye and Jeon Jong Seo took the lead roles. Before the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak, the two actresses participated in a press conference and appeared in entertainment shows, but the official release was postponed. After repeatedly delaying the release in the aftermath of COVID-19, the film chose to go to Netflix. Night in Paradise tells the story of a man who has become the target of an organization and a woman standing at the end of her life. Uhm Tae Goo, Jeon Yeo Bin, Cha Seung Won, Lee Ki Young, and Park Ho San appeared in the film. Night in Paradise, the only Korean feature film to be invited to this yearŌĆÖs Venice International Film Festival, receives much attention for being the next noir film by New World director Park Jong Hoon. Since Time to Hunt, these two films became the second Korean movies to go straight to Netflix without being released first in theaters. As Korean content is meeting more and more audiences around the world through Netflix, expectations for these two films are also mounting. Source (1)
