HBO released the second teaser for The Idol, the upcoming drama series created by ŌĆ£the sick and twisted minds ofŌĆØ The Weeknd and Euphoria helmer Sam Levinson. In the show, The Weeknd himself takes on the role of a self-help guru, club owner and leader of a modern-day cult, who dates an up-and-coming artist played by Lily-Rose Depp.
The trailer showed a glimpse of Jennie (credited here as Jennie Ruby Jane), who makes her acting debut in the series. SheŌĆÖs spotted flashing a devilish smile while lounging in a sauna with Depp before the two whisk away to a packed dance club in ŌĆ£the gutters of Hollywood.ŌĆØ Jennie spoke about her casting in The Idol last month, saying, ŌĆ£I found the script very intriguing, so I wanted to be part of the series. I feel very excited. IŌĆÖll work hard, so please watch me with affection.ŌĆØ Little else is known about The Idol. The first season will run for six episodes and is primed to arrive on HBO Max sometime before the yearŌĆÖs end, with a specific premiere date yet to be announced.
